Competencies Forum 2026 (Inter-connected Canada)

The 4th edition of the Skills Forum, organized by IMACA, brings together industry representatives, academics, and students to discuss challenges related to workforce succession and future skills in the rail and aerospace sectors.

 Looking for your next career opportunity? Hundreds of positions will be available through participating employers during the event. This is an excellent opportunity to explore career opportunities in the aerospace and rail transportation sectors, meet recruiters, submit your résumé, and learn more about current and future hiring needs.

Participation in the Forum is by registration only. Advance registration is required to attend the event.

This edition of the Forum will be held at the Ontario Tech University on September 18, 2026. Among its skills-related initiatives:

• A railway certification launched in 2025

• An aerospace specialization program in 2026

IMACA is working to create a resilient and forward-looking ecosystem to foster connectivity in Canada by bringing together the rail, aerospace, and maritime sectors to better understand evolving skills needs and accelerate the development of transferable skills.

 This forum will give you the opportunity to:

Program:

• 10:00 a.m. : Networking and exhibitor booth visits

• 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.: Panel 1: Interconnected Canada: Building a Shared Vision for Canadian Mobility : Bringing together industry leaders and strategic partners to discuss the challenges and opportunities of integrated mobility, where different modes of transportation collaborate across sectors and borders.

• 12:00 p.m.: Lunch, networking, and exhibitor booth visits

• 1:15 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.: Panel 2: Transferable Skills: Preparing Talent for the Mobility of Tomorrow : Exploring the common skills sought across mobility sectors and understanding how to facilitate talent mobility from one sector to another.
