Your training program
- The Ascension Academy is open to anyone with little or no flight experience, regardless of their professional or educational background. Whether you've always dreamed of flying or want to retrain, this training can allow you to change your life and pilot our fleet. Learn more.
- The training program is developed in partnership with CAE, a global reference for pilot training and a long-standing partner.
- Selection for the program guarantees employment with Air Transat at the end of the training, conditional on success. In a few months, the program will allow you to become a pilot and fly our aircraft.

Phoenix Campus
- The Ascension Academy lasts approximately 18 months. Training will primarily take place at CAE's Falcon Field airport facilities in Phoenix, Arizona, in a modern and innovative campus. Learn more
Upon hiring
- Your training will allow you to operate our fleet's aircraft immediately upon program completion.
- You will pilot latest-generation aircraft, among the most energy-efficient in their category (A330 and A321), and you will work with the industry's most recent technological tools.
- You will fly to prime international destinations. You will quickly undertake transatlantic flights to Europe, the Caribbean, Central America, or the American East and West coasts.
Qualifications
Ensure you are eligible: Canadian citizens or permanent residents with little or no flight experience are encouraged to apply. If you have already started flight lessons, you cannot enroll in this program if you have obtained a qualification or certificate other than the private pilot certificate. Candidates must be at least 18 years old at the start of training, hold a high school diploma, and have English proficiency equivalent to ICAO level 4.
Start by answering a few questions about your application. As you progress through the process, an assessment and interviews will be necessary. If you are selected, a letter of employment promise will be given to you before the start of your training. After enrollment, you will begin your training at CAE Phoenix flight school, under the Arizona sun, in the United States.
