We are looking for an **Acheteur planificateur I** within our satellite systems team at our Montreal office.

Role:

Responsible for material requirement planning, negotiating and purchasing simple materials and services, considering cost, quality and delivery within defined limits and in accordance with identified decision-making levels. Able to purchase items included in overhead, building services, capital expenditures and standard items and components available on the commercial, military and space market. Receives specific assignments with periodic supervision.

Tasks:

• Analyze MRP messages and take appropriate action.
• Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers.
• Analyze received quotes and place orders within established authorization limits.
• Perform follow-up activities for purchase orders and shipment tracking information to ensure timely deliveries.
• Proactively report material availability issues.
• Prepare and communicate forecasts or supply plans to suppliers.
• Understand market trends for assigned commodities.
• Resolve receiving and billing anomalies.
• Review and implement engineering change notices for items included in assigned commodities.
• Support sales and engineering requests regarding cost and material availability.
• Monitor and maintain supply chain data for the master article for items included in assigned commodities.
• Contribute to process improvements and lean initiatives related to items included in assigned commodities.
• Assist in the qualification and development of new suppliers.
• Review monthly supplier performance and define corrective action plans, if necessary.
• Represent the company during meetings with commercial representatives of current/future suppliers.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a business-related field
• Registration with SCMA or an in-progress or completed certification will be considered an asset.
• 2 years of related experience
• A combination of other relevant experience/education could be considered.
• Some understanding of export control regulations
• Experience in electronic component acquisition
• Demonstrate good organizational skills and the ability to adapt to changes.
• Sense of urgency
• Basic problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Commitment and responsibility
• Basic analysis and negotiation techniques
• Good communication skills
• Customer orientation (internal and external)
• Fluency in French and English (oral and written).

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level and successfully pass the security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
