We are looking for an Intermediate Buyer Planner to join our Satellite Systems team at our Montreal office.

Role:

Responsible for material requirements planning, negotiation, and purchasing of simple materials and services, considering cost, quality, and delivery within defined limits and in accordance with identified decision levels. Able to purchase overhead items, building services, capital expenditures, and standard items and components available on the commercial, military, and space markets. Receives specific assignments with periodic supervision.

Tasks:

• Analyze MRP messages and take appropriate action.
• Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers.
• Analyze received bids and place orders within established authorization limits.
• Perform follow-up activities for purchase orders and shipment tracking information to ensure on-time deliveries.
• Proactively report material availability issues.
• Prepare and communicate forecasts or supply plans to suppliers
• Understand market trends for assigned commodities.
• Resolve receiving and invoicing discrepancies.
• Review and implement engineering change notices for items within assigned commodities.
• Support sales and engineering requests for material costs and availability.
• Monitor and maintain master item supply chain data for items within assigned commodities.
• Contribute to process improvements and lean initiatives related to items within assigned commodities.
• Assist in qualifying and developing new suppliers.
• Review monthly supplier performance and define corrective action plan, if any.
• Represent the company during meetings with sales representatives of current/future suppliers.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a business-related field.
• Enrollment with SCMA or ongoing/completed certification will be considered an asset.
• 2 years of related experience.
• A combination of other relevant experience/education may be considered.
• Some understanding of export control regulations.
• Experience in acquiring electronic components.
• Demonstrate good organizational skills and the ability to adapt to change.
• Sense of urgency.
• Basic problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Commitment and accountability.
• Basic analytical and negotiation techniques.
• Good communication skills.
• Customer orientation (internal and external).
• Proficiency in French and English (oral and written).

Successful candidates must obtain and maintain a Reliability Status security clearance and pass the security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
