We are seeking a candidate within our satellite systems team at our Montreal office.

Role:

Participates in material requirements planning and negotiation and is responsible for purchasing simple goods and services, considering cost, quality and delivery within defined limits and in accordance with identified decision levels. Able to purchase items included in overhead and provide support for facility-related service purchases and capital expenditures previously negotiated by a more senior buyer. Receives specific assignments with regular supervision.

Responsibilities / Tasks:

Support and participate in negotiating prices and terms with suppliers.
Analyze received bids and place orders within established authorization limits.
Perform follow-up activities for purchase orders and shipment tracking information to ensure on-time deliveries.
Proactively report material availability issues.
Support and participate in the preparation and communication of forecasts or procurement plans to suppliers.
Resolve receiving and invoicing discrepancies.
Support subcontract service activities.
Assist more experienced buyers with their activities.
Help qualify and develop new suppliers.
Review monthly supplier performance and define corrective action plans as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a business-related field
Registration with AGGA or a certification in progress or completed will be considered an asset. A combination of other relevant experience/education may be considered.
Up to 2 years of related experience
Demonstrated good organizational skills and ability to adapt to change
Sense of urgency
Basic problem-solving and decision-making skills
Commitment and accountability
Basic analysis and negotiation techniques
Good communication skills
Customer orientation (internal and external)
Working knowledge of French and English, both spoken and written

Comments / Special Considerations:

Selected candidates must obtain and hold a reliability-level security clearance and pass the security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
