Job Description

Do you have experience in aeronautics or any other industry, have you worked in purchasing and/or supply, and do you want to grow and develop new skills? This position is for you!

The A220 commercial aircraft program is looking for a buyer for propulsion systems/engines to join our Purchasing team based in Mirabel (Quebec, Canada).

You will be part of the team responsible for engine purchasing and will be responsible for contract administration and operational/industrial support.

You will be part of the purchasing team that develops the sourcing strategy, contracting, and supplier performance management.

The propulsion system is not just a "commodity." It is the heart of the aircraft, a system of extreme technical complexity whose performance directly impacts the energy efficiency, sound footprint, and reliability of the A220. Your challenge will be to translate these technical requirements into purchasing strategies and commercial negotiations to ensure that our contracts with the engine manufacturer are not only competitive but also aligned with future innovations and program performance objectives. You will need to master the technical, legal, and financial implications of each contractual decision.

The team's organization is established to promote autonomous cross-functional collaboration, mutual support, and collective learning.

Your challenges:

  • Lead contract administration activities: monitor performance and proper application of contract terms and conditions in coordination with operational and supplier management teams, manage contract amendments and claims, if applicable

  • Ensure regular coordination with internal stakeholders and within the propulsion systems purchasing community

  • Produce periodic reports, develop and update key performance indicators (KPIs) concerning deadlines, deliverables, and performance

  • Review monthly account statements, outstanding payments, and invoice discrepancies with the finance department, and ensure consistency with the finance department regarding the disbursement profile,

  • Provide operational support for aircraft assembly lines and supplier support teams, provide support for aircraft deliveries and interact with the supplier for commitment letters if necessary,

  • Negotiate non-quality and secondary flow costs with the supplier.

  • Supplier relationship management and implementation of optimization projects aimed at maximizing customer value and reducing total cost of ownership and risks.

In summary, this position manages the complete administration of the PW1500G contract (transactions, compliance, finance) and provides operational and industrial support, including cost negotiation. You will be the focal point ensuring contractual compliance, financial flow, and essential operational support for the A220 aircraft final assembly line.

Requirements

Your profile:

  • Holder of a bachelor's degree or equivalent, in Business Administration with a concentration in Logistics, Purchasing/Operations, or Finance or in supply chain management.

  • Mastery of purchasing and/or supply processes

  • Knowledge of accounting/finance (accounts payable/receivable management, invoicing, account statements)

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.

  • Knowledge of the aeronautical industry, experience in propulsion systems is an asset.

  • Good knowledge of software such as Excel, Google suite, etc.

  • Knowledge and experience with SAP.

  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar position.

  • Bilingual French/English
