Job Description

Do you have experience in tender management and a technical background allowing you to work with engineering teams, have you worked in the aerospace purchasing field and wish to grow and develop new skills? This position is for you!

The A220 commercial aircraft program is looking for one (1) buyer (m/f) for the purchasing portfolio related to engineering services. Join the General Purchasing team based in Mirabel (Quebec, Canada), where you will work jointly with the American and European purchasing teams, as well as the Engineering and Finance departments.

You will be part of the General Purchasing team responsible for carrying out the following purchasing activities:

Definition of purchasing strategy

Management of calls for tenders

Negotiation of supplier offers (price negotiation)

Contractual negotiation

Your role as a buyer will be to coordinate the expression of needs from the Engineering services located in Mirabel, providing support for drafting common specifications with Europe, ensuring that the strategy defined for the Group's global tenders is taken into account by the engineering teams, and working with the Senior Engineering Services Buyer for the preparation and execution of these global tenders.

Your challenges:

• Lead the Engineering teams to work with their counterparts in Europe for drafting specifications

• Manage the relationship with the Engineering teams to ensure they meet tender deadlines

• Consolidate the information necessary for launching the tender with the Finance and Engineering teams

• Ensure compliance with commitments to the American and European purchasing services

• Work closely with the American and European purchasing services for the preparation and execution of tenders

• Participate in the analysis of offers and assist in their evaluation during the different rounds of tenders

• Participate in meetings for preparation and execution in support of the Senior Engineering Buyer

Requirements

• Mandatory experience in purchasing, negotiation, and contract management

• General technical knowledge in the field of engineering,

• Proficiency in French and English (mandatory)

• You know how to work in a multicultural environment, and you know how to work in an environment where cost and deadline challenges are important

• You are agile and have the ability to manage several files simultaneously and to define the management of urgent and important subjects

• You are able to communicate and interact with different hierarchical levels
