The opportunity

Air Canada is currently seeking bilingual agents to join our Sales and Customer Service team at our service centre in Vancouver. Our agents are often the first point of contact for our customers at Air Canada, so this is a role of vital importance to our ongoing success. You must ensure the first impression is a positive one. What your day looks like

As a bilingual sales and customer service agent, you will deliver superior customer service by answering each call promptly, courteously and professionally. You will also:

  • Be a reliable source of information regarding flights, fares, destinations and exclusive offers.
  • Use Air Canada's internal reservation system to make new flight bookings or modify existing reservations.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by providing timely responses to inquiries.

Qualifications

Required skills and experience

This role is critical to our customers' satisfaction. We therefore have a number of criteria to ensure your success:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Availability to attend and successfully complete our paid training of approximately twelve (12) weeks full-time.
  • Availability to work shift schedules.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to find creative solutions to complex problems to assist the customer.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Punctuality and reliability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the country where the position is posted at the time of offer. Obtaining any required work permits/visas is the sole responsibility of applicants.

Preferred skills

  • Proven customer service experience in a call centre environment.
  • Previous experience in the travel industry.
  • Working knowledge of computer applications and the internet.

Language requirements

Candidates must be fluent in English. Priority will be given to candidates who speak both English and French. As Canada's most international airline, we would also like to know if you speak one or more of the following languages in addition to English: French, Spanish, Korean, Japanese, Cantonese and Mandarin.
