AIR INUIT CORPORATE PROFILE

Air Inuit has been providing essential scheduled, chartered, cargo and emergency air transport services to Nunavik and beyond — 24 hours a day, 365 days a year — for over 45 years. Collectively owned by the Inuit of Nunavik, through Makivik Corporation, the airline operates a fleet of 30 aircraft and employs more than 1,000 people in one of the world's most challenging flight environments.

Air Inuit management and its team of dedicated employees are committed to pursuing their tradition of providing safe, punctual and courteous air service for the growing number of people living and doing business in this region of Nunavik in Northern Québec.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The cargo warehouse agent prepares cargo shipments for departure on Air Inuit and Canadian North planes. The agent also receives cargo packages that arrive on our aircraft.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform all necessary operations and procedures for offloading and loading of cargo trucks
  • Prepare cargo shipments for air transport
  • Perform cargo build-ups and breakdowns; handle freight to and from skids or pallets
  • Fill in all required labels and attach them to goods
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of the warehouse
  • Comply with Air Inuit's Safety Policy, including wearing PPE, safe equipment operation, safe lifting procedures, and obeying speed limits when driving company vehicles and equipment
  • Communicate effectively with other warehouse agents, customers, suppliers and operational departments
  • Perform any other duties deemed necessary to ensure effective operations

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to communicate in at least two of the following languages: Inuktitut, French, English
  • Reliable, punctual and able to work under pressure
  • Experience as a cargo agent or cargo handler is an asset
  • Must be able to obtain a YUL airport RAIC (Secured Zone Access) and a D/A (airside vehicle operator's permit)
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

COMPENSATION

  • Compensation and benefits are determined in accordance with corporate policy
  • Hourly wage starting at $22.34
