Reporting to the In-Flight Services Director or Manager, the incumbent is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of Porter passengers while upholding the Flying Refined brand promise. The home base and fleet type (Toronto Pearson YYZ or Toronto Billy Bishop YTZ) will be determined by the company based on operational needs.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety of all passengers
  • Effortlessly provide friendly and attentive service to ensure passenger comfort
  • Comply with standard operating procedures from your training, in accordance with Transport Canada and Porter policies
  • Perform the physical duties of a flight attendant, such as lifting loads up to 50 lbs, standing for long periods, and assisting passengers in an emergency
  • Tactfully manage unforeseen operational and passenger situations
  • Actively monitor the general condition of the aircraft cabin and make necessary adjustments to maintain passenger safety or enhance their experience
  • Embody Porter's values

  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with team members
  • Actively participate in Porter's safety management system, including reporting hazards and incidents encountered during daily operations; understand, respect, and promote the company's safety policy

Qualifications

  • Hold a valid Canadian passport or a valid international passport and an up-to-date US crew member visa (C-1/D)
  • Be at least 19 years of age at the time of employment
  • High school diploma
  • Mandatory fluency in French and English
  • At least two years of public-facing work experience in a customer service role
  • Ability to obtain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) and pass the company's background check process
  • Ability to meet required medical standards (including alcohol and drug screening) and all physical requirements of the position
  • Successful completion of a five- to six-week full-time training program with 100% attendance and passing all written and practical evaluations
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills are essential, along with a safety-first mindset and the ability to work without supervision
  • Be able to work a rotating reserve schedule that includes weekends, holidays, evenings, and nights. Schedules and days off are assigned based on seniority through an online bidding system
  • Must be able to report to the assigned base airport within two hours of notice for flight duties
