Key responsibilities

  • Safety first: You prioritize safety and are able to execute emergency procedures while ensuring the safety of passengers and yourself.
  • Empathy and friendliness: You listen carefully to customers and respond to their needs with professionalism and care.
  • Excellent communication skills: You have ease interacting with a diverse clientele and ensuring clear communication.
  • Professionalism and impeccable presentation: You wear the uniform with pride and respect the company's dress code standards.
  • Flexibility and availability: You are available to work a variable schedule (morning, evening, weekend, holidays).
  • Regulatory compliance: You understand and comply with the industry's strict policies and regulations.
  • Quality service: Serving snacks, meals, and beverages in flight, including spirits and alcoholic beverages.

Qualifications

  • Be at least 18 years of age;
  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Hold a valid passport allowing travel to all countries served by Air Canada;
  • Willingness to relocate to a city where one of the In-Flight Service bases is located: Vancouver, Toronto;
  • Availability to attend mandatory eight-week full-time training in Montreal, Toronto, or Vancouver (at a lower pay rate);
  • Punctuality and reliability to support the overall success of the team in a fast-paced environment;
  • Candidates must be able to work shifts in a constantly operating environment, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays;
  • To ensure you can obtain the security clearance required by Transport Canada, we will conduct a criminal background check on all candidates;
  • Flight attendants perform safety-sensitive tasks, and candidates for this position must meet Air Canada's medical requirements to be eligible. Candidates will be subject to a medical evaluation, including drug and alcohol screening, and must not be under the influence of intoxicating substances;

Language skills

As Canada's national carrier, we are proud to offer bilingual services. Preference will be given to candidates who are fluent in English and French. As Canada's primary international carrier, preference will be given to candidates fluent in French, Greek, Japanese, and Mandarin.
