Ramp Agent (Ground Service Agent) - Airport - Part-time

Location: Ottawa, ON, Canada (on-site)

Starting pay: $17.75 per hour for the part-time position

Service: Airports Canada and CX Strategy

Category: Unionized (IAMAW)

Position type: Part-time

Shift premiums: Evening shift - $0.50 per hour worked between 6:00 PM and 11:00 PM. Night shift - $1.00 per hour worked between 11:00 PM and 6:00 AM.

No experience required.

What will you do today?

As part of a dynamic team, you will work with other team members to ensure aircraft are loaded and unloaded efficiently while maintaining flight safety and on-time performance. You may perform tasks related to baggage and transfer baggage for connecting passengers or work on the ramp carrying out the many duties required for successful operations.

Qualifications

Job requirements

Teamwork is essential in our workplace to ensure smooth operations across our fleet. This is a physically demanding job that requires staying active on the ramp and in the baggage hall. As operations run year-round, you must be prepared to work in all weather conditions.

To join us you must:

• Hold a valid driver's license — you will be required to operate heavy ramp equipment;
• Be able to repeatedly lift loads of 32 kg (70 lb);
• Pass a medical assessment, including drug and alcohol screening;
• Be available to attend and successfully complete a paid 5–7 week full-time training program;
• Be available to work rotating 24-hour shift schedules (including weekends and holidays);
• Demonstrate attention to safety and security;
• Demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team every day;
• Show punctuality and reliability to support the team's overall success in a fast-paced environment;
• Be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transport security clearances and additional authorizations (please consult Transport Canada for details);
• Be authorized to work in the country where the job is located at the time of application. It is the candidate's responsibility to obtain any required work permits/visas or other authorizations.
