Baggage Handler (Station Attendant) - Airport - Part-time - Proactive Recruitment

Shift premiums: Evening shift – $0.50 per hour worked between 6:00 PM and 11:00 PM. Night shift – $1.00 per hour worked between 11:00 PM and 6:00 AM.

What will you do today?

As part of a dynamic team, you will collaborate with other team members to ensure that aircraft loading and unloading are carried out efficiently, ensuring flight safety and punctuality. You may be required to perform duties associated notably with baggage and connecting passenger luggage or to work on the tarmac to execute the numerous tasks necessary for successful operations.

Job Requirements

In our workplace, teamwork is essential to ensure the smooth operation of our aircraft fleet. This is physically demanding work that involves staying in motion airside and in the baggage room. Since our operations run year-round, you must be ready to work in all weather conditions.

To join us, you must:

• Hold a valid driver's license – driving heavy equipment airside will be required;
• Be able to repeatedly lift loads of 32 kg (70 lb);
• Pass a medical evaluation, including a drug and alcohol screening test;
• Be available to attend and successfully complete a five-to-seven-week full-time paid training program;
• Be available to work rotating shifts over a 24-hour period (including weekends and holidays);
• Pay attention to safety and security;
• Demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team every day;
• Show punctuality and reliability to support the overall success of the team in a fast-paced environment;
• Be able to obtain and retain any applicable transportation security clearance as well as additional authorizations (please consult the Transport Canada website for more details);
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the country concerned at the time the job offer is made. The search for any work permit/visas or other necessary authorizations is solely the responsibility of candidates for this position.
