Starting salary: $23.36/hour - Up to $38.15 after 8 years of continuous service, as stipulated in the applicable collective agreement.

Department: Canadian Airports and Strategy – Customer Experience

Category: Unionized (IAMAW)

Employment type: full-time

Shift premiums: evening shift – $1.00 per hour worked between 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. Night shift – $1.50 per hour worked between 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

No experience is required.

What will you do today?

As part of a dynamic team, you will collaborate with other team members to ensure aircraft are loaded and unloaded efficiently, ensuring the safety and punctuality of flights. You may be asked to perform duties associated notably with luggage and connecting passenger baggage or to work on the tarmac to execute the numerous tasks necessary for successful operations.

Qualifications

Job Requirements

  • In our workplace, teamwork is essential to ensure the smooth operation of our aircraft fleet. This is physically demanding work that involves staying in motion airside and in the baggage room. Since our operations run year-round, you must be prepared to work in all weather conditions.
  • To join us, you must:
  • Hold a valid driver's license – you will need to drive heavy equipment airside;
  • Be able to repeatedly lift 32 kg (70 lb) loads;
  • Pass a medical evaluation, including a drug and alcohol screening test;
  • Be available to attend and successfully complete a five-to-seven-week full-time paid training program;
  • Be available to work rotating shifts over a 24-hour period (including weekends and holidays);
  • Pay attention to safety and security;
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to work within a team, every day.
  • Show punctuality and reliability to support the overall success of the team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearance as well as additional authorizations (please check Transport Canada's website for more details).
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the country concerned at the time the job offer is made. The search for any work permits/visas or other necessary authorizations is the sole responsibility of the candidates for this position.
