MHIRJ is the merger of two significant legacies: Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) and the CRJ Series program. We provide comprehensive solutions in critical operations, engineering and customer support, including maintenance, refurbishment, technical publications, and marketing and sales activities for the global regional aircraft industry. We are looking for a Procurement Agent to join our team!

Position Objective

The Procurement Agent plays a key role in ensuring the smooth flow of material through the supply chain, managing supplier performance, and optimizing procurement operations. The role is responsible for identifying sourcing options, managing the quote process with non-contracted suppliers, expediting critical orders, resolving basic supplier performance issues, and providing support to logistics team members. The ideal candidate is motivated, highly organized, a strong problem solver, has excellent communication skills, and has experience working in a fast-paced logistics or procurement environment.

Daily Responsibilities

Supplier coordination and order execution

  • Manage end-to-end the process from PR to PO for assigned work packages.
  • Manage end-to-end the quoting process for spare parts procurement without contracts, including evaluation of prices and fees, lead times, and minimum order quantity conditions.
  • Contact suppliers and coordinate with them to expedite and/or resolve issues related to customer urgent orders and replenishment orders.
  • Handle supplier failures to meet defined lead times and follow up to resolve delays.
  • Monitor and address order status escalations from the value stream logistics team and resolve exceptions with suppliers.
  • Update required reports with supplier commitments and updates, including tools for managing customer backorders.
  • Align and coordinate with the AOG team to ensure prioritization of critical orders.

Issue resolution and compliance

  • Support and work closely with the value stream logistics team to contribute to material flow and problem resolution, including managing purchase requisitions and converting them if necessary, tracking purchase orders, delivery scheduling and invoices.
  • Resolve discrepancies between orders, rejections and claims with suppliers.
  • Support supplier evaluation request processes (RFSE) for new suppliers to ensure follow-up on first article inspections (FAI).

Operational support and data management

  • Maintain communication and alignment with internal stakeholders to ensure systems are updated to reflect accurate supplier, procurement and order execution information, including lead times, minimum order quantities and pricing conditions.
  • Participate in supplier-related special projects, including compliance tracking and reporting.

Qualifications

  • Degree in supply chain, business management, logistics or related field.
  • 1 to 5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, supplier management or logistics.
  • Experience in aerospace or manufacturing is an asset.
  • Experience working with ERP systems (SAP or similar) and procurement tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite (Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to analyze order status reports, identify gaps and effectively address supplier-related issues.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a changing environment.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate in English, both written and oral. Bilingualism (French and English), written and oral, is an asset.
