Support cargo operations and office administration requirements in Frankfurt.
Responsibilities
- Accept and deliver cargo, while verifying the number of items and their weight. Ensure that shipments have the appropriate marks and labels, and verify that the cargo can be accepted in accordance with safety and security considerations.
- Report any discrepancy, suspicious shipment or potential security issue to the Senior Service Agent.
- Build and break down pallets, containers and bulk carts.
- Load and unload trucks.
- Store cargo in appropriate warehouses, and report as needed.
- Handle manual or mechanical handling (e.g., with a forklift) of cargo.
- Perform all relevant cargo handling processes and accurately and in real time log operational steps in the system.
- Drive company vehicles, as needed.
- Deliver transshipments to other air carriers, as needed.
- Accept and process shipments of dangerous or regulated goods, in accordance with Company and government agency rules.
- Perform weekly off-square and storage checks to help locate missing cargo.
- Ensure damaged cargo is reported properly, in accordance with Company procedures.
- Liaise directly with Senior Agents, Coordinators and Managers regarding daily operational concerns.
- Ensure compliance with Air Canada University online training.
- Actively participate in our health and safety program, and respect all health and safety standard operating procedures (SOPs); report any danger or potential problem to the Senior Service Agent.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications
- Work experience in a cargo warehouse, an asset.
- Ability to work shifts (early morning, late evening, night, including weekends) while being willing to meet operational needs.
- Valid driver's licence, without restrictions.
Conditions of Employment:
Candidates must be eligible to work in the country concerned at the time a job offer is presented and are responsible for obtaining work permits, visas or other necessary authorizations. Proof of eligibility must be provided before the start date.
