This position supports cargo operations and takes charge of all requirements of the cargo office in Australia, as listed below.
Responsibilities :
- Manage station ULD inventories and liaise with Cargo Network Control YYZ and ground handling agents (GHA) to ensure sufficient equipment availability to support cargo operations.
- Implement the loading plan and coordinate with warehouse and ramp teams to ensure optimal utilization of available space and weight for each flight.
- Monitor data entries made by the GHA and ensure they are completed in a timely manner.
- Verify shipment / ULD data in cargo management and load control systems.
- Ensure that GHA activities always comply with Air Canada's safety policy and standard operating procedures (SOP).
- Maintain good relationships with interline carriers to ensure smooth in-transit cargo transfers.
- Monitor Cargo iQ indicators and implement corrective actions to improve scores.
- Support and supervise GHAs in load planning and data entry in weight and balance systems.
- Monitor and coordinate ramp activities.
- Respond to customer requests regarding imports and exports, as well as requests from other stations regarding cargo entering and leaving Australia.
- Manage irregularities and operational disruptions.
- Maintain and organize the replenishment of forms, labels, office supplies, and other administrative materials for the office.
- Supervise the build-up of ULDs for sensitive goods (VAL, HUM, AVI, etc.) to prevent theft and damage incidents while goods are in the cargo terminal facilities.
- Track the list of uncustomed air waybills (AWBs) and coordinate with the GHA and overseas offices for their closure.
- Be able to work on the ramp to supervise loading operations.
- Be able to work on a rotating schedule.
- Coordinate with the GHA and sales teams on ULD build-up to maximize space and weight utilization.
- Ensure cargo safety and security by verifying that all documentation for each shipment complies with Air Canada's standards and procedures.
- Coordinate with all stakeholders, including the GHA, and take necessary measures (such as rebooking cargo) in the event of an aircraft being grounded for maintenance.
- Meet with GHA representatives at their level to establish and maintain good relationships.
- Participate in regular meetings with GHAs to discuss any issues.
- Perform any other related tasks or responsibilities assigned by the manager.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in the field of freight forwarding or airline industry, an asset.
- Sales or cargo service experience (6 to 24 months).
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.

Candidates must be eligible to work in the country concerned at the time a job offer is presented and are responsible for obtaining work permits, visas, or other necessary authorizations. Proof of eligibility must be provided before the start date.
Language Requirements
Fluency in English, both oral and written; knowledge of other languages, an asset.
