The successful candidate is responsible for processing processes and procedures related to import and export cargo operations data, including liaising with Air Canada Cargo Customer Service, head office-based services, warehouse staff and external third parties. They are also responsible for verifying compliance with service level agreements for Air Canada customers, for both inbound and outbound cargo.

Responsibilities:

  • Accept, assign and process all aspects of cargo, for inbound and outbound flights.
  • Process dangerous goods, valuable goods, live animals and perishables, for inbound and outbound flights.
  • Process all relevant documents for inbound and outbound flights, including common veterinary entry documents (CVED) for perishable cargo.
  • Respond to inquiries from customers, warehouse staff, Toronto loading department, His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC), etc., as needed.
  • Verify squaring and storage, and process discrepancy reports.
  • Process cargo that does not meet customs requirements, verify shipment weight and missing cargo, as needed.
  • Ensure that inbound and outbound cargo processing complies with the service level agreed with Customer Service.
  • Liaise with transport companies for booking and transport of cargo destined for the United Kingdom and the European Union.
  • Liaise with Customer Service to determine activities based on allocated priority cargo space and bookings related to this type of cargo.
  • Assist the Cargo Reception Agent, if necessary.
  • Keep their UK airport authority airside pass up to date, as required.
  • Ensure compliance with Air Canada University online training.

Qualifications

  • Experience in the air cargo industry, an asset
  • Experience with WebLynx, SmartLOAD, Airport Bureau Systems (ABS) and the Transport Facilities website, an asset
  • Security training by the DfT (Department for Transport)

Terms of Employment:

Candidates must be eligible to work in the country concerned at the time an offer of employment is made and are responsible for obtaining necessary work permits, visas or other authorizations. Proof of eligibility must be provided prior to the start date.

Language Requirements

Good oral and written skills accompanied by a high degree of accuracy in English.
