Job description

Location: Drummondville (QC)

Duration: 6-month contract

Schedule: Day shift, Monday to Friday

The incumbent is responsible for designing floor plans and updating associated procedures in line with evolving standards, design changes, the integration of new components, and weight variations related to chassis and products.

They also contribute to developing solutions when discrepancies arise between customer needs and feasible configurations within prescribed limits. In the event of a dispute regarding the application of standards, they refer to engineering representatives, who are the only ones authorized to approve the final floor plan.

Main responsibilities

  • Design floor plans according to bids and orders based on established priorities
  • Comply with applicable standards, weight limits and manufacturing constraints
  • Produce floor plans for engineering service testing
  • Validate requests with the relevant internal departments
  • Analyze interferences observed in manufacturing and propose permanent solutions
  • Collaborate with internal teams in disputes related to standards and floor plan limits
  • Keep files and procedures up to date using the following sources:
  • Engineering logbook
  • New standards
  • Changes (O.S.A.)
  • Weight variations
  • Intranet tables (seats, lifts, air conditioning)

Required qualifications

  • Vocational diploma (DEP) in industrial drafting
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD
  • Good ability to read drawings and understand assembly concepts in production
  • Knowledge of measuring tools
  • Good command of Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of spoken and written English (asset - suppliers mainly anglophone)
  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to manage priorities and work under stress
