Method Agent - Configuration Preparer

We are supporting our client, a major player in the Canadian aerospace industry, in their search for a Method Agent – Configuration Preparer.

In this role, you will contribute to the preparation, planning, and implementation of aircraft manufacturing and assembly methods. You will work in close collaboration with engineering, production, quality, and logistics teams to ensure the compliance of technical solutions and the smooth execution of projects.

Role and Responsibilities

Methods and Technical Preparation

• Interpret, verify, and approve drawings and other documents from the engineering department.
• Understand, interpret, and plan aircraft ATP tests.
• Establish assembly and manufacturing strategies for aircraft components.
• Prepare and present projects for validation with the various company functions.
• Create or interpret manufacturing routings according to project needs.

Project Management and Tracking

• Lead project status meetings and keep various tracking files up to date.
• Ensure tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Manage activities across different project phases: feasibility study, project mandate and business plan, acquisition, implementation, and launch into production.
• Identify technical and operational challenges and propose adapted solutions.
• Manage change requests arising during project execution.

Coordination and Continuous Improvement

• Harmonize the implementation of engineering changes or assembly strategies.
• Work closely with engineering, materials logistics, quality, and production teams.
• Participate in improving manufacturing methods and processes.
• Ensure effective communication with internal stakeholders and clients.

Profile Sought

Education and Experience

• College diploma or university degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, aeronautical manufacturing, or a relevant field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in methods.
• Experience in the aerospace sector and in medium-batch production support.

Technical Skills

• Good knowledge of aerospace assembly processes.
• Understanding of key characteristics of simple or complex assembly tooling and capability analysis tools.
• Excellent ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Ability to use and interpret aerospace standards.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to create and/or interpret a manufacturing routing.
• Mastery of principles of tolerancing and stack-up analysis.
• Knowledge of elementary parts, an asset.
• Knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Office, and CATIA V5.
