The A220 commercial aircraft program is looking for a Tooling Manufacturing Methods Specialist to join our support methods team based in Mirabel (Quebec, Canada).

You will be part of the support methods team responsible for coordinating essential actions to resolve major issues impacting the assembly line. The team is structured to promote autonomous cross-functional collaboration, mutual support, and collective learning.

Your role as a Tooling Manufacturing Methods Specialist will be to track progress from design to tool delivery, managing priorities with requesters. You will also be responsible for managing the budget portfolio and ensuring the standardization of toolboxes used on the line. You will need to implement a catalog and process for replacing tools from the toolboxes and manage cutting tools related to non-conformities by identifying needs, determining the required tool, and ensuring its supply.

Your challenges:

  • Understand manufacturing tool needs and ensure operational requirements are met. Standardize toolboxes;
  • Actively participate in technical reviews and new tool introduction projects. Develop and track delivery milestones and tool validation;
  • Act as a technical point of contact for tools (function, design, calibration, maintenance, and tool requests);
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, tooling, and production teams to optimize tool usage;
  • Develop a management strategy for special tools, such as cutters or non-conformance (NC) tools.
  • Manage the budget and work orders (WOs);
  • Maintain a customer service-oriented approach.

Your boarding pass:

  • You hold a College Diploma (DEC) in mechanical manufacturing or a Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering discipline;
  • You have project management experience;
  • You have 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in manufacturing environments, preferably in aerospace, ideally on the A220;
  • You have proven experience with jigs and tooling;
  • You have strong knowledge of CATIA software tools;
  • You are open-minded and proactive.
