Job Description

Do you have methods experience, ideally in aerospace, have worked as a coordinator and want to grow and develop new skills? This position is for you!

The A220 commercial aircraft program is looking for a methods agent to join our methods support team based in Mirabel (Quebec, Canada).

You will be part of the methods support team responsible for coordinating essential actions to resolve major issues impacting the assembly line. The team is organized to promote cross-functional collaboration in an autonomous way, supporting each other and learning collectively.

In this role you will work closely with other Methods teams to develop and revise work methodologies and to write work instructions for production. You will collaborate closely with engineering, production, logistics and quality functions. Root cause investigations and participation in solution analysis are part of the role's responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Implement innovative solutions to improve processes while reducing costs;
  • Influence and facilitate communications between internal stakeholders;
  • Act as an agent of change to promote an internal customer service culture;
  • Lead continuous improvement and problem-solving opportunities (ePPS);
  • Be responsible for synthesizing situations from simple to complex and presenting them to different levels of assembly or manufacturing management for the production or assembly of aircraft components;
  • Interpret, verify and approve drawings and other documents from the engineering department;
  • Establish assembly and manufacturing strategies for aircraft components;
  • Define the tools necessary for manufacturing or assembling aircraft components to ensure the required geometric tolerancing;
  • Harmonize the implementation of engineering changes or assembly strategy by working closely with engineering, materials logistics, quality and production services and other methods functions within the organization;
  • Keep up to date on ways to improve assembly and manufacturing strategies and take part in research and development projects.

Requirements

Your profile:

  • You hold a college (DEC / AEC) and/or university degree in mechanical, industrial engineering, aerospace manufacturing or a related discipline;
  • You have at least 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment;
  • Knowledge of interior finishing is an asset;
  • General understanding of dependencies between different positions in the aircraft manufacturing system;
  • Detailed knowledge of planning, logistics, quality and production processes;
  • Strong leadership skills, ability to challenge processes, and a willingness to develop colleagues and other functions.
