Customer Service is the primary point of contact for all internal and external inquiries for Air Canada Cargo in the United Kingdom. The department works closely with Cargo Sales and Capacity Control at headquarters to generate revenue at every opportunity, increasingly seeking new business opportunities for transit cargo in Canada.

The incumbent is responsible for all aspects of air waybill data entry, customs reporting, and compliance with customs regulations for all Air Canada and Air Canada Rouge flights departing from the United Kingdom and at stopovers such as Dubai and Casablanca. In addition, the incumbent provides customer service for a significant and varied amount of inquiries related to Air Canada products and services, by phone, email, fax, and sometimes in person. The Service also offers support in tracking and resolving anomalies, and also works to protect revenue related to closing all air waybills for import, on a daily basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Answer all internal and external customer inquiries, by all necessary means, constantly seeking ways to create revenue opportunities, while providing excellent customer service.
  • Accurately and timely enter import and export data into Weblynx and other computer applications.
  • Work closely with Cargo Sales to develop cargo transport opportunities, carefully planning the best use of our cargo capacity and route availability for all cargo products.
  • Liaise with all general sales agents and ground service providers to maximize revenue.
  • Perform general duties assigned to them relating to Air Canada's operations.
  • Maintain their Heathrow Airport Limited (UK airport authority) airside pass, as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with UAC online training.

Qualifications

  • Experience in the air cargo industry, an asset.
  • Experience with Weblynx, ABS, ETS, Microsoft Office suite, an asset.
  • Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and UK Department for Transport (DFT) security training.

Employment Conditions:

Candidates must be eligible to work in the country concerned at the time an offer of employment is made and are responsible for obtaining necessary work permits, visas, or other authorizations. Proof of eligibility must be provided prior to the start date.

Language Requirements

Good oral and written skills with a high degree of accuracy in English.
