Air Canada is currently seeking dynamic individuals to fill temporary full-time positions as Auxiliary Mechanic – Ground Equipment.

The successful candidate must possess the following skills:

• Be familiar with the procedures and equipment used by skilled workers and be able to perform general maintenance tasks requiring basic manual skills.
• Work alone or, if necessary, assist mechanics with the installation or maintenance of ground equipment.
• Perform heavy work indoors and outdoors.
• Must be a team player with written and oral communication skills; customer-focused and able to work in a demanding environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Practical knowledge and/or experience in general maintenance of Ground Support Equipment (GSE), and/or automotive, agricultural or heavy industrial equipment, including welding experience.
• Successful completion of the pre-employment examination.
• Possession of a valid driver's license.
• Obtaining the Aéroports de Montréal (ADM) driver's license (DA) for driving motorized vehicles in the restricted traffic area (airside).
• Availability to work day, evening or night shifts as well as weekends.
• Demonstrate punctuality and reliability to support the overall success of the team in a fast-paced environment.
• Employees in this position perform safety-critical work, and as such, Air Canada's medical standards must be met to qualify for this position. Candidates will undergo a medical evaluation, including a drug and alcohol screening test, and must be free of any intoxicating substances.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain all applicable transportation security clearances and other additional accreditations, depending on the workplace. Please refer to the Transport Canada website for more details.
• Applicants must be eligible to work in the relevant country at the time an offer of employment is made and are responsible for obtaining any necessary work permits, visas, or other authorizations. Proof of eligibility must be provided before the start date.
