Air Canada is currently looking for dynamic individuals to fill temporary full-time positions as Auxiliary Mechanic - Ground Equipment.

The incumbent must possess the following skills:

• Good knowledge of the procedures and equipment used by skilled workers and be able to perform general maintenance work requiring basic manual skills.
• Work alone or, as needed, assist mechanics with the installation or maintenance of ground equipment.
• Perform heavy work both indoors and outdoors.
• Must have team spirit and written and oral communication skills; customer-oriented and able to work in a demanding environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Practical knowledge and/or experience in general ground support equipment (GSE) maintenance, and/or automotive, agricultural, or heavy industrial equipment, including welding experience.
• Successful completion of the pre-employment examination.
• Possession of a valid driver's license.
• Obtaining the Aéroports de Montréal (ADM) driver's license (DA) for driving motor vehicles in the restricted traffic area (airside).
• Availability to work day, evening, or night shifts as well as weekends.
• Demonstrate punctuality and reliability to support the team's overall success in a fast-paced environment.
• Employees in this position perform safety-sensitive work, and as such, Air Canada medical standards must be met to qualify for this position. Candidates will be subject to a medical evaluation, including drug and alcohol screening, and must be free of any intoxicating substances.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain all applicable transport security clearances and other additional accreditations, depending on the workplace. Please refer to the Transport Canada website for more details.
• Candidates must be eligible to work in the country concerned at the time a job offer is presented and are responsible for obtaining necessary work permits, visas, or other authorizations. Proof of eligibility must be provided before the start date.
