Position summary:
The Aircraft Assembler‑Fitter is responsible for performing assembly operations (assembling, fitting and installing pre‑fabricated modules and sub‑assemblies to build aircraft). Using a technical file, a manufacturing sequence in paper or digital format and a kit of primary parts, the Aircraft Assembler‑Fitter must carry out, alone or as part of a team, the assembly of an aircraft structure, delivering quality work that complies with Airbus Atlantique Canada and customer standards and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret manufacturing and installation drawings; plan and mark patterns of various shapes; cut, shape, assemble and fit sheet and plate metal parts or other forms used in structure and assembly;
- Perform all necessary operations for assembly, fitting, repair, modification and installation of any type of mechanical, electromechanical and hydraulic parts and/or assemblies; manufacture parts and perform complex adjustments;
- Consult and interpret aircraft assembly diagrams;
- Manufacture simple aircraft structural parts;
- Install aircraft structural elements;
- Assemble and fit, from a manufacturing file, sub‑assemblies and structural assemblies of aircraft structures and systems;
- Assemble and install mechanical parts and components of an aircraft;
- Mount, fit and install prefabricated parts or elements such as skins, flight controls, fittings, hydraulic systems and other mechanical systems on aircraft;
- Adjust and use machines and manual or automated tools according to the work to be performed;
- Verify, using measuring and inspection instruments, aircraft assemblies against technical specifications;
- Ensure, by different control means, the conformity of assemblies with the manufacturing dossier.
Profile / Requirements:
- Vocational diploma (DEP) in Structure Assembly or System Installation OR a minimum of 5 years' experience as an Aircraft Assembler‑Fitter in the aerospace field or a related assembly field AND successful completion of an assessment demonstrating basic technical skills;
- Good technical knowledge in structure assembly and system installation;
- Proficiency in aeronautical technical language and reading technical drawings;
- Relevant knowledge of FOD management;
- Good manual skills and high dexterity;
- Good visual acuity;
- Meticulousness and precision, good reflexes, ability to concentrate and attention to detail (high‑precision assembly or manufacturing);
- Analytical ability to quickly identify a defect or other problem;
- Sense of responsibility (parts conformity);
- Ability to work in a team (multidisciplinary team: assemblers‑mechanics, aircraft mechanics, other technicians, engineers);
- Experience in the aerospace industry.

- Conventional hourly wage for 5 to 7 years' experience: between $34.88 and $42.90;
- Working language: French;
- On‑site work;
- Workplace: 12 000, rue Henry‑Giffard, Mirabel (Quebec) J7N 1H4;
- Deferred compensation: $1.55 per hour worked, paid twice a year (July and December) after completing a probation period of 600 hours worked;
- Schedule: Monday to Thursday (05:50 to 14:20). You may be required to work the evening shift (14:20 to 00:50). In that case, you will be eligible for an evening premium of $1.05 while assigned to the evening shift.
