Job Summary:

The Aircraft Assembler / Fitter is responsible for carrying out assembly operations (assembling, fitting and installing modules and prefabricated sub-assemblies to build aircraft). Based on a technical file, a manufacturing process in paper or digital format and a kit of primary parts, the Aircraft Assembler / Fitter must carry out the assembly of an aircraft structure alone or in a team, performing quality work that complies with the standards and procedures of Airbus Atlantique Canada and the client.

Your challenges:

• Read and interpret manufacturing and installation drawings, plan, lay out patterns of various shapes, cut, shape, assemble and adjust sheet and plate metal parts or any other form used in structure and assembly;
• Perform all operations necessary for the assembly, fitting, repair, modification and installation of all types of mechanical, electromechanical and hydraulic parts and/or assemblies, manufacture parts and make complex adjustments;
• Consult and interpret aircraft assembly diagrams;
• Manufacture simple aircraft structure parts;
• Install aircraft structure elements;
• Assemble and fit, from a manufacturing file, the assembly of structural sub-assemblies and assemblies of Airframe cells and Systems;
• Assemble and install parts and mechanical elements of an aircraft;
• Fit, adjust and install prefabricated parts or elements such as skins, flight controls, assemblies, hydraulic systems and other mechanical systems on aircraft;
• Set up and use manual or automated machines and tools according to the work to be performed;
• Check, using measuring and verification instruments, aircraft assemblies against technical requirements;
• Ensure, by various control means, the conformity of the assemblies in relation to the manufacturing file.

Your profile:

• DEP in Structural Assembly or Systems Installation OR Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience as an Assembler / Fitter in the aeronautics field or a related assembly field AND Successfully pass an evaluation demonstrating basic technical skills;
• Have good technical knowledge in structure assembly and systems installation;
• Master aeronautical technical language and the reading of technical drawings;
• Have relevant knowledge of FOD management;
• Good manual skills and very good dexterity;
• Good visual acuity;
• Meticulousness and precision, good reflexes, ease of concentration and attention to detail (assembly or manufacture of high-precision components);
• Analytical capacity to quickly find a defect or any other problem;
• Sense of responsibility (conformity of parts);
• Ease of teamwork (multidisciplinary team: assembly mechanics, aircraft mechanics, other technicians, engineers);
• Experience in the aerospace industry.

• Conventional hourly wage for 5 to 7 years of experience: between $34.88 and $42.90;
• Working language: French;
• In-person work;
• Workplace: 12 000, rue Henry-Giffard, Mirabel (Quebec) J7N 1H4;
• Deferred compensation: $1.55/hour worked, paid 2 times per year (July and December) after completing your probation period of 600 hours worked;
• Schedule: Monday to Thursday (05:50 to 14:20). You may be required to work the evening shift from Monday to Thursday (14:20 to 00:50). In this case, you will be eligible for an evening shift premium of $1.05 as long as you are assigned to the evening shift.
