Job summary:

The mission of the aircraft assembler / fitter is to perform assembly operations (assembling, fitting, and installing prefabricated modules and sub-assemblies to build aircraft). Based on a technical file, a manufacturing process sheet in paper or digital format, and a kit of primary parts, the aircraft assembler / fitter must independently or as part of a team assemble an aircraft structure while performing quality work that complies with the standards and procedures of Airbus Atlantique Canada and the client.

Your challenges:

• Read and interpret manufacturing and installation drawings, plan, lay out patterns of various shapes, cut, shape, assemble, and adjust sheet and plate metal parts or any other shape used in structure and assembly;
• Perform all operations necessary for the assembly, fitting, repair, modification, and installation of all types of mechanical, electromechanical, and hydraulic parts and/or assemblies, manufacture parts, and perform complex adjustments;
• Consult and interpret aircraft assembly diagrams;
• Manufacture simple aircraft structure parts;
• Install aircraft structural elements;
• Assemble and fit, from a manufacturing file, the assembly of sub-assemblies and structural assemblies of airframes and aircraft systems;
• Assemble and install parts and mechanical elements of an aircraft;
• Assemble, fit, and install prefabricated parts or elements such as skins, flight controls, assemblies, hydraulic systems, and other mechanical systems on aircraft;
• Set up and operate manual or automated machines and tools according to the work to be performed;
• Check, using measurement and inspection instruments, aircraft assemblies against technical requirements;
• Ensure, through various control means, the conformity of assemblies relative to the manufacturing file.

Your profile:

• DEP in Structural Assembly or Systems Installation OR Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience as an Assembler / Fitter in the aeronautical field or a related assembly field AND Pass an evaluation demonstrating basic technical skills;
• Have good technical knowledge in structure assembly and systems installation;
• Master aeronautical technical language and the reading of technical drawings;
• Have relevant knowledge of FOD management;
• Good manual skills and very good dexterity;
• Good visual acuity;
• Meticulousness and precision, good reflexes, ease of concentration, and attention to detail (assembly or manufacturing of high-precision components);
• Analytical skills to quickly find a defect or any other problem;
• Sense of responsibility (part conformity);
• Ease of teamwork (multidisciplinary team: assembly mechanics, aircraft mechanics, other technicians, engineers);
• Experience in the aerospace industry.

• Workplace: 12 000, rue Henry-Giffard, Mirabel (Quebec) J7N 1H4;
• Deferred compensation: $1.55/hour worked, paid 2 times per year (July and December) after completing your 600 hours worked probation period;
• Schedule: Monday to Thursday (05:50 to 14:20). You may be required to work the evening shift from Monday to Thursday (14:20 to 00:50). In this case, you will be eligible for an evening shift premium of $1.05 as long as you are assigned to the evening shift.
