Job Summary:
The Aircraft Fitter-Assembler is responsible for carrying out assembly operations (mounting, adjusting, and installing prefabricated modules and sub-assemblies to build aircraft). Based on a technical file, a manufacturing range in paper or digital format, and a kit of primary parts, the Aircraft Fitter-Assembler must, alone or as a team, assemble an aircraft structure by performing quality work that complies with the standards and procedures of Airbus Atlantique Canada and the client.
Your challenges:
- Read and interpret manufacturing and installation plans, plan, trace various shape patterns, cut, shape, assemble, and adjust sheet and plate metal parts or any other form used in structure and assembly;
- Perform all necessary operations for mounting, adjusting, repairing, modifying, and installing all types of mechanical, electromechanical, and hydraulic parts and/or assemblies, manufacture parts, and perform complex adjustments;
- Consult and interpret aircraft assembly diagrams;
- Manufacture simple aircraft structural parts;
- Install aircraft structural elements;
- Mount and adjust, from a manufacturing file, the assembly of sub-assemblies and structural assemblies of Airframes and Aircraft Systems;
- Assemble and install mechanical parts and elements of an aircraft;
- Mount, adjust, and install prefabricated parts or elements such as coverings, flight controls, fixtures, hydraulic systems, and other mechanical systems on aircraft;
- Adjust and use manual or automated machines and tools according to the work to be performed;
- Verify, using measuring and verification instruments, aircraft assemblies against technical specifications;
- Ensure, by various control means, the conformity of assemblies against the manufacturing file.
Your profile:
- DEP in Structure Assembly or System Installation OR Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Fitter-Assembler in the Aeronautics field or in a related assembly field AND Successfully pass an evaluation demonstrating basic technical skills.
- Have good technical knowledge in structure assembly and system installation;
- Master aeronautical technical language and technical plan reading;
- Have relevant knowledge of FOD management;
- Good manual skills and very good dexterity;
- Good visual acuity;
- Thoroughness and precision, good reflexes, ease of concentration, and attention to detail (assembly or manufacturing of high-precision components);
- Ability to analyze to quickly find a defect or any other problem;
- Sense of responsibility (conformity of parts);
- Ease of teamwork (multidisciplinary team: assembler-mechanics, aircraft mechanics, other technicians, engineers);
- Experience in the aerospace industry.

- Conventional hourly wage for 5 to 7 years of experience: between $34.88 and $42.90.

- Deferred compensation: $1.55/hour worked, paid twice a year (July and December) after completing your 600-hour probation period
- Schedule: Monday to Thursday (05:50 to 14:20). You may be required to work the evening shift Monday to Thursday (14:20 to 00:50). In this case, you will be eligible for an evening premium of $1.05 as long as you are assigned to the evening shift.
