Our Airbus Atlantique site based in Mirabel is looking for its future: Aircraft Assembler.
Job Summary
The Aircraft Assembler’s mission is to carry out assembly operations (assemble, adjust, and install prefabricated modules and sub-assemblies to build aircraft).
Starting from a technical file, a manufacturing process sheet in paper or digital format, and a kit of primary parts, the Aircraft Assembler must perform alone or in a team the assembly of an aircraft structure by performing quality work that respects the standards and procedures of Airbus Atlantique Canada and the customer.
Responsibilities
o Read and interpret manufacturing and installation drawings, plan, lay out patterns of various shapes, cut, shape, assemble, and adjust sheet metal and plate parts or any other form used in structure and assembly;
o Perform all operations necessary for the assembly, adjustment, repair, modification, and installation of all types of mechanical, electromechanical, and hydraulic parts and/or assemblies, manufacture parts, and make complex adjustments;
o Consult and interpret aircraft assembly diagrams;
o Manufacture simple aircraft structure parts;
o Install aircraft structure elements;
o Assemble and adjust, from a manufacturing file, the assembly of sub-assemblies and structural assemblies of Airframes and Aircraft Systems;
o Assemble and install parts and mechanical elements of an aircraft;
o Assemble, adjust, and install prefabricated parts or elements such as skins, flight controls, fixtures, hydraulic systems, and other mechanical systems on aircraft;
o Adjust and use manual or automated machines and tools according to the work to be performed;
o Check, using measuring and verification instruments, aircraft assemblies against technical prescriptions;
o Ensure, by various control means, the conformity of assemblies in relation to the manufacturing file.
PROFILE SOUGHT
Academic Background:
DEP Structural Assembly or Systems Installation OR Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience as an Assembler in the field of Aeronautics or in a related assembly field
AND Pass an evaluation demonstrating basic technical skills.
Special Requirements:
o Have good technical knowledge in structure assembly and systems installation;
o Master aeronautical technical language and reading technical drawings;
o Have relevant knowledge regarding FOD management;
o Good manual skills and very good dexterity;
o Good visual acuity;
o Meticulousness and precision, good reflexes, ease of concentration, and attention to detail (assembly or manufacture of high-precision components);
o Analytical capacity to quickly find a defect or any other problem;
o Sense of responsibility (conformity of parts);
o Ease of teamwork (multidisciplinary team: assembler-mechanics, aircraft mechanics, other technicians, engineers);
o Experience in the aerospace industry.
