Why Join The Turbine Rotating Structures Team?

You will participate in the design, validation, and certification of the rotating components of the turbine, which are at the heart of our turboprop engines, turbofans, and turboshaft engines. You will perform thermo-structural analyses for various missions using finite element methods to evaluate the durability, integrity, and damage tolerance of turbine rotors. You will acquire practical skills and fundamental experience that will allow you to become the professional you aspire to be. You will have the opportunity to be involved in and contribute to meaningful projects, develop key skills, and grow within a group of specialists.

What will your day-to-day look like?

  • Working within Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) across all product life cycle phases, from preliminary design to fleet support
  • Support various engine programs by planning, performing, and documenting the results of thermos-structural, and durability/integrity analyses of turbine rotating parts
  • Use finite element tools to assess and influence design optimization and ensure its integrity
  • Define test objectives and instrumentation for rig or engine testing, as well as analyze and leverage the results
  • Participate in generic research programs to improve component durability or develop new technologies
  • Support technical reviews with Fellows of the discipline
  • Write analytical, test and certification reports

What do you need to be successful?

  • Must be approved for a PMC/CI work environment, including but not limited to: ECL: 1-9.E.3.a.1, 1-9.E.3.a.4, 1-9.E.3.a.5, 1-9.E.3.a.6, 1-9.E.3.a.8, 6-3.E.1, EAR (US): EAR99, 9E101, 9E991, 9E003.a.1, 9E003.a.5, 9E003.a.6, 9E003.a.8, 9E619
  • Proficiency in using various software on PC/UNIX. Experience with ANSYS Classic & Workbench as well as Catia V5 or equivalent CAD/CAE software.
  • Relevant experience in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
  • Desired skills: autonomy, ability to work in a team, interest in sharing experience and improving procedures, strong written and oral communication skills, and excellent organizational skills.
  • Being a member of the OIQ (Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec) or eligibility to become one is an asset.
  • Overtime work periods may be required.
  • Evening, weekend, or holiday support may occasionally be required.
