About the Position

Cable Design Analyst for Naval Combat System Integration

The candidate will participate in the Canadian Surface Combatant (CSC) program, including CSC combat system integration and design work. This position will require frequent interactions with client and subcontractor teams as well as internal teams.

The candidate will work in a fast-paced multidisciplinary team and participate in all appropriate Combat System Integration (CSI) and ship design activities, including, but not limited to:

• Coordinate and support the generation, validation, troubleshooting, and quality assurance of cable design
• Maintain high standards of professional excellence
• Attend Irving Shipbuilding Inc. (ISI) subcontractor and original equipment manufacturer meetings, as well as internal Lockheed Martin meetings, as applicable
• Resolve with the client issues and discrepancies related to the integration and design of ships from the vector product design team
• Liaise with subject matter experts, original equipment manufacturers, subcontract administrators, etc., to resolve technical issues in support of ship integration and design activities
• Support or implement initiatives to improve the efficiency of the ship combat system installation, integration, and testing program and minimize rework
• Transmit lessons learned to peers and colleagues throughout the organization
• Track and report on cable-related deliverable indicators and status, both internally and with clients and subcontractors.

What You Bring to the Position

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in engineering, science, or a related field
• At least ten years of work experience in a technical and management position in a related field
• At least ten years of work experience in naval or marine cable engineering
• Demonstrated ability to achieve good results in challenging or ambiguous situations
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to provide technical advice and solve difficult problems
• Ability to work well alone or in a team
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills
• Knowledge of naval combat management systems, an asset
• Ability to obtain a North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) “Secret” security clearance.

Additional skills desired for the position

• Experience in the design and integration of ship platforms and combat systems
• Experience in a shipyard production environment
• Experience in shipyard production quality control and assurance activities
• Experience in developing technical data packages for combat systems
• Experience in combat system cable management
• Ability to work overtime, as needed
• Ability to work at height and in confined spaces aboard a ship
• Experience in material management
• Experience with common office administration software tools (Microsoft Office suite)
• Experience in planning and scheduling (Microsoft Project or Primavera).

Language requirements in Quebec

Knowledge of the English language is necessary for this position so that the candidate can perform all of their duties. The position described in this job offer requires the candidate to communicate daily with a virtual team outside of Quebec. The candidate will also need to communicate with various members of the organization, clients, and suppliers located outside of Canada. For engineering positions, the candidate will also need to be able to read or modify technical documents from our main clients and write technical documents for these same clients.

Salary Range

$95,000 - $124,500
