Job description

Working with the marketing planning leadership, the marketing data scientist plays a key role in marketing measurement, experimentation and performance analysis across integrated, multi-platform initiatives.

They help strengthen measurement capabilities to support informed decisions about marketing investment, planning and campaign optimization. They develop scalable measurement frameworks, advance experimentation practices and generate insights to better understand performance drivers, incremental impact and investment opportunities.

Working closely with marketing planning, media strategy, performance, revenue management and finance teams, they help establish a data-driven decision-making culture. They address complex issues related to campaign effectiveness, incrementality, forecasting, demand generation and budget allocation while implementing reproducible processes and scalable tracking tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and evolve marketing measurement frameworks for campaigns, audiences, channels and lines of business.
  • Define comprehensive measurement plans (KPIs, success criteria, assumptions, incrementality) and ensure their integration from campaign planning stages.
  • Differentiate platform-reported performance, attributed performance and the true incremental impact on business outcomes.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to define and execute the Test & Learn roadmap and structure hypotheses.
  • Design and analyze experiments (geo tests, control groups, pre/post analyses), including power analyses and lift detection.
  • Apply statistical and causal inference methods to generate robust insights (lift, iROAS, confidence levels, bounds).
  • Develop and use advanced analytical approaches, including Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM), to optimize marketing investment allocation.
  • Evaluate campaign performance and produce deep analyses of performance drivers, customer behaviors and demand trends.
  • Design and improve dashboards, automate reporting and ensure data quality and consistency.
  • Support forecasting (demand, bookings, campaign impact) and automate analyses using Python, SQL and BI tools.
  • Work with stakeholders to support decision-making and translate analyses into concrete recommendations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in data science, statistics, mathematics, analytics or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in marketing analytics, data science, experimentation or performance measurement in a multichannel environment.
  • Experience developing measurement frameworks, designing experiments and translating insights into business recommendations.
  • Strong applied statistics skills (regression, hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, model validation, interpretation of uncertainty).
  • Expertise in experimentation and incrementality (control vs exposed groups, geo tests, biases, causal inference).
  • Experience in forecasting (trends, seasonality, baseline vs incremental) using tools such as ARIMA, SARIMAX or Prophet.
  • Experience with advanced approaches such as Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM), attribution or marketing contribution analysis.
  • Excellent proficiency in Python and SQL for analysis, automation and data management.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and demonstrated ease with collaborative digital tools and AI (e.g., Copilot).
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies.
  • Fluency in spoken and written French and English *

*Good command of French is required for positions in Quebec. The person in the role will need to communicate frequently in English, orally and in writing, with colleagues, clients or other stakeholders, both in Quebec and internationally.
