Job Description
Reporting to the Director, Financial Reporting and Optimization, the Senior Financial Analyst will participate in the analysis and preparation of Air Transat's financial statements and will act as an internal reference for aircraft lease accounting. Through rigor, methodology, and excellent analytical skills, the successful candidate will also contribute to the overall financial reporting process.
Responsibilities
- Act as the person in charge of the balance sheet and the coordination of balance sheet account analyses;
- Prepare the balance sheet/income statement, budgeted balance sheet/income statement, and forecast balance sheet/income statement;
- Produce monthly financial statements, balance sheets, and cash flows;
- Complete financial information for consolidation purposes;
- Coordinate month-ends and closing in SAP;
- Analyze the financial clauses of aircraft leases and perform calculations related to new leases and amendments (IFRS 16);
- Act as an internal consultant for any questions related to consolidation and lease accounting;
- Analyze insurance and fixed assets;
- Coordinate, communicate, and plan internal and external audits;
- Respond to any requests from government authorities.
Qualifications
- Recognized professional designation (CPA);
- Minimum of 5 years of experience, open to candidates from public accounting firms;
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills;
- Strong interest in using and maximizing SAP;
- Good knowledge of IFRS standards;
- Excellent mastery of Excel;
- Good mastery of Microsoft suite tools;
- Ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Oral and written proficiency in French and English *
*A good command of French is required for positions in Quebec. The incumbent will be required to communicate frequently in English, both orally and in writing, with colleagues, clients, or other stakeholders, both in Quebec and internationally.
