MDA Space is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst, Financial Planning within our satellite systems team at our Montreal office.
Role:
The Senior Financial Analyst, Financial Planning, assists in the preparation and consolidation of timely and accurate monthly forecasts, budgets, and strategic plans for Satellite Systems - Montreal. Following these activities, monitoring and evaluating financial performance are required.
Tasks:
- Prepares monthly and quarterly cash flow forecasts, working capital, OH reports, to ensure the accuracy of financial projections
- Management of capital planning and monthly CAPEX monitoring/forecasting
- Monthly tracking of subcontractor progress for revenue recognition
- Prepares the annual budget for cash, OH, SR&ED, and capital expenditures
- Prepares monthly management reports and in-depth variance analysis (actuals versus budget) to explain financial performance
- Collaborates with department heads and general management to support operational decisions and business cases
- Carries out ad-hoc financial analysis and modeling, as needed, to support investment projects
- Supports funding claims and audits
- Ensures compliance with financial policies
- Supports strategic plans
- Acts as delegate for the Financial Planning Manager in their absence
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably in the aerospace industry
- Must be able to analyze and understand operations, as well as key business drivers
- Knowledge of IFRS, cost management, financial planning, and analysis
- Demonstrates autonomy and works under minimal supervision
- Problem-solving abilities.
- Must demonstrate speed of execution, attention to detail, and respect for deadlines
- Computer skills, particularly spreadsheets and graphical and modeling software
- CPA designation
