About the position
The Associate Article Analyst position is based at the contractor’s 8 Wing Trenton, Ontario site office and will report to the Logistics Management Analyst responsible for all matters relating to the logistical support of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) C-130J aircraft fleet. The primary function is to provide support to the U.S. logistics personnel in Marietta, Georgia, and the Logistics Management Analyst on site. The successful candidate will have experience in logistical support or supply chain management and will be able to enforce contractual requirements while meeting customer expectations. This position requires a proactive approach to supply issues. Strong communication skills are needed to work effectively within a dynamic group of internal and external clients. The position is located on client premises.
The candidate will work in a team environment and must demonstrate the ability to receive directions from the Logistics Manager at the contractor’s site office and work with the management of that office. The Article Analyst contributes to decision-making related to the daily execution of the support contract for the C-130J fleet.
The duties of the position will include:
- Ensure that inventory is sufficient for mission requirements throughout the life cycle of the supported systems. Manage and control inventory position, especially in performance-based logistics. Make and execute decisions regarding operational inventory, including suppliers, repair facilities, and the manufacturing chain, including interpreting priorities, allocating inventory, and redistributing assets, where appropriate, between supply sources and military operations sites
- Respond to military service inquiries; support requests for proposals and procurement decisions; understand and use various inventory optimization models
- Forecast and manage budget needs
- Interact with enterprise and National Defence (ND) information management systems
- Ensure the fidelity of asset identification; resolve technical and support issues for assigned item categories by actively interacting with engineering and suppliers
- Prepare progress reports and indicators related to supplier performance and mission readiness.
What you bring to the position
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related discipline or equivalent co-op education
- Entry level.
Additional desired skills for the position
- A basic knowledge of SAP (Systems, Applications and Products) software, the Defence Resource Management Information System (DRMIS), and the ability to read and interpret technical publications are considered an asset.
