About the Position

The Associate Material Analyst position is based at the contractor's 8 Wing Trenton, Ontario site office and will report to the Logistics Management Analyst responsible for all matters relating to the logistics support of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) C-130J aircraft fleet. The primary function is to provide support to US logistics personnel in Marietta, Georgia, and the responsible on-site Logistics Management Analyst. The successful candidate will have experience in logistics support or supply chain management and will be able to enforce contractual requirements while meeting customer expectations. This position requires a proactive approach to supply issues. Strong communication skills are necessary to work effectively within a dynamic group of internal and external clients. The position is located at the client's premises.

The candidate will work in a team environment and must demonstrate the ability to receive direction from the Logistics Manager at the contractor's site office and work with the management of that office. The Material Analyst contributes to decision-making related to the daily execution of the support contract for the C-130J fleet.

The duties of the position will include:

  • Ensure sufficient inventory to meet mission requirements throughout the lifecycle of supported systems. Manage and control inventory position, especially within performance-based logistics. Make and execute decisions regarding operational inventories, including suppliers, repair facilities, and the manufacturing chain, including interpreting priorities, allocating inventory, and redistributing assets, where appropriate, between supply sources and military operations sites
  • Respond to military service inquiries; support requests for proposals and procurement decisions; understand and use various inventory optimization models
  • Forecast and manage budgetary needs
  • Interact with corporate and National Defence (ND) information management systems
  • Ensure the fidelity of asset identification; resolve technical and support issues for assigned item categories by actively interacting with engineering and suppliers
  • Prepare progress reports and metrics related to supplier performance and mission readiness.
