About the role
The Associate Parts Analyst position is based at the contractor's on-site office at 8 Wing Trenton, Ontario, and reports to the Lead Logistics Management Analyst responsible for all logistics support matters for the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) C-130J aircraft fleet. The primary function is to provide support to the U.S. logistics staff in Marietta, Georgia, and to the on-site Lead Logistics Management Analyst. The successful candidate will have experience in logistics support or supply chain management and be able to enforce contractual requirements while meeting customer expectations. This role requires a proactive approach to procurement issues. Strong communication skills are necessary to work effectively within a dynamic group of internal and external stakeholders. The position is located on the client's premises.
The candidate will work in a team environment and must demonstrate the ability to take direction from the logistics lead at the contractor's on-site office and to work with that office's management. The parts analyst contributes to decision-making related to the day-to-day execution of the support contract for the C-130J fleet.
Responsibilities
- Ensure stock levels meet mission requirements throughout the lifecycle of supported systems. Manage and control stock position, especially within performance-based logistics. Make and execute decisions regarding operational stock, including suppliers, repair facilities and production chain, interpreting priorities, allocating stock and redistributing assets as required between supply sources and military operation sites.
- Respond to military information requests; support proposals and procurement decisions; understand and use various inventory optimization models.
- Forecast and manage budgetary needs.
- Interact with corporate and Department of National Defence (DND) information management systems.
- Maintain asset identification accuracy; troubleshoot technical and support issues for assigned item categories by actively engaging with engineering and suppliers.
- Prepare status reports and metrics related to supplier performance and mission readiness.
What you bring
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related discipline, or equivalent apprenticeship training.
- Entry level.
Additional desired skills
- Basic knowledge of SAP (Systems, Applications and Products), the Defence Resource Management Information System (SIGRD), and the ability to read and interpret technical publications are considered assets.
