The person in the role of Performance Marketing Analyst – Cargo provides essential support to the Cargo Marketing team by leveraging data and analytics to inform strategic decision-making and optimize marketing effectiveness.

The analyst integrates data into marketing and product strategies to increase revenue, strengthen brand and product positioning, and enhance customer trust. The person must make clear, actionable, data-driven recommendations that contribute to marketing objectives and commercial success.

The analyst turns complex marketing and commercial data into actionable insights that guide creative direction, messaging, audience targeting and tactical business decisions, contributing to the overall success of the Cargo Marketing team. Responsibilities include monitoring marketing performance, conducting commercial and product analyses, and gathering market and customer intelligence to support campaign and product development. The person will use CRM data to drive targeted marketing initiatives, support analytics and marketing automation projects, and work closely with cross-functional teams to meet business goals.

Responsibilities

Marketing performance and analysis

  • Monitor and analyze campaign performance across all marketing initiatives, on owned channels and partner channels.
  • Track key performance indicators, including revenue contribution, conversion rate and engagement.
  • Monitor performance of creative assets across channels (e.g., email, web, paid media) and report on results; support testing initiatives (A/B tests) and summarize findings.
  • Prepare regular reports and dashboards to enable continuous performance monitoring and planning.
  • Provide data-driven insights to support content and campaign optimization and improve effectiveness and performance.

Product performance analysis and commercial analytics

  • Support analysis of Air Canada Cargo product performance across markets, routes and customer segments.
  • Monitor revenue, performance and volume trends. Highlight risks and opportunities to Product leads.
  • Contribute to assessment of product positioning and performance in collaboration with Commercial Affairs, Sales, Revenue Management and Network Planning.
  • Support go-to-market activities and track performance of new or updated products.

Customer and market intelligence

  • Conduct customer and market segment analyses to enable targeting and product development.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity.
  • Contribute to development of perspectives that inform marketing and product strategies.

Data-driven marketing and CRM activation

  • Leverage the CRM system and customer data (e.g., Salesforce) to support targeted, data-driven marketing initiatives and campaign personalization.
  • Develop practical approaches to customer segmentation and use insights to target campaigns and optimize performance.

Advanced analytics and automation (emerging capabilities)

  • Support implementation of advanced analytics tools, automation capabilities and agentive AI to improve marketing efficiency and scalability.
  • Contribute to developing more automated, insight-driven decision-making approaches across marketing activities.

Stakeholder support and communication

  • Prepare clear, concise reports, presentations and summaries for marketing stakeholders.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives with data analysis and insights.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Product, Sales, CRM, Analytics, Revenue Management and other commercial teams as needed.

Qualifications

  • University degree in business analytics or marketing, or equivalent.
  • Three to five years of relevant experience.
  • Proven analytical thinking and strong problem-solving skills. Results-oriented.
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is an asset.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing metrics and analytics platforms (e.g., Adobe Analytics).
  • Experience with Salesforce environment (including Account Engagement) is an asset.
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint for stakeholder reporting and presentation of results.
  • Ability to process large volumes of data and synthesize findings into clear conclusions.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong time-management skills and ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Proven punctuality and reliability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in international logistics or cargo is an asset.
