Reporting to the Manager – Financial Operations, the Analyst will primarily be responsible for providing support to arbitrageurs as well as processing and communicating fixed income and equity transactions to our trustee. In addition, the Analyst will be responsible, on a rotational basis, for cash reconciliations and daily cash management. The successful candidate will have developed a strong sense of priorities, rigor, and the ability to work under pressure. Responsibilities:
- Apply various processes related to the settlement of fixed income and equity transactions.
- Ensure system data integrity to provide quality management information to the various business units responsible for investment.
- Act proactively in settling transactions in collaboration with the trustee and various counterparties.
- Maintain an understanding of the various technicalities of international markets.
- Support arbitrageurs.
- Perform reconciliations related to transactions, cash, and positions between our various systems and our trustees.
- Manage and validate cash balances of various funds/accounts to avoid overdrafts.
- Propose improvements to work methods and participate in their implementation.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in finance or administration.
- Experience in financial operations, an asset.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
Knowledge and Skills
- Excellent mastery of the Office suite (Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Language requirements: Bilingualism (English and French) both written and oral. This position requires proficiency in a language other than French to provide daily support to clients and employees located outside Quebec or who require services in a language other than French.
- Knowledge of financial applications: Eagle Star, Bloomberg AIM, desirable.
