Job Description

In line with the company's strategic directions, the person in the Program Optimization Analyst role participates in implementing the short-term network development plan (with a 1 to 9 month horizon).

The Program Optimization team monitors the evolution of the current season's program to improve Transat's profitability. This is a key role that requires close coordination with several teams, notably Revenue Management, Pricing, Finance, Product, Public Affairs and Flight Operations.

The incumbent is responsible for analyzing the anticipated economic performance of flights to support decision-making regarding changes to the current program. They are also responsible for communicating to the Current Program and Commercial Distribution teams the directives related to adjustments to the flight program and passenger re-protection, including those resulting from changes involving the company's partners.

Responsibilities

  • Optimize the current season program tactically, in coordination with Revenue Management and Pricing to identify one-off economic improvement opportunities. Identify and analyze risk and opportunity situations and propose/implement appropriate corrective actions (capacity adjustments).
  • Monitor the profitability trends of Air Transat's network routes.
  • Create an economic estimation tool for changes to the flight program (for example, a change of aircraft type).
  • Establish diagnostics, develop analyses and provide recommendations.
  • Contribute to defining the programs for upcoming seasons based on long-term directions and in coordination with Network Development, aiming for economic optimization.
  • Serve as one of the subject-matter experts for the Program Optimization team.
  • Actively participate in projects related to the current season's program.
  • Communicate required changes to the Current Program and Commercial Distribution teams, regarding both the flight program and passenger re-protection.
  • Maintain relationships with our stakeholders, notably on program optimization topics.
  • Act as a driver of innovation at both methodological and organizational levels.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific and/or economic field (mathematics, economics, optimization, operations research...)
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of professional experience (experience in the airline industry is an asset)
  • Strong analytical, persuasion and initiative skills
  • Effective time management and results-oriented
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build lasting relationships with partners
  • Advanced proficiency with computer management tools (Office suite) and decision-support techniques/tools
  • Good adaptability in a constantly changing environment
  • Fluency in spoken and written French and English *

*A good command of French is required for positions in Quebec. The person in the role will frequently need to communicate in English, orally and in writing, with colleagues, clients or other stakeholders, both in Quebec and internationally.
