Description

Being part of Air Canada means being part of a Canadian symbol, Air Canada recently voted best airline in North America. Take off your career by joining our innovative and diverse team at the forefront of passenger air transport.

The Demand Planning Analyst will actively contribute to maintaining aircraft availability by ensuring that necessary parts are available at the right time and at the best cost, while finding the right balance between service level, budget, and inventory growth. You will work at the intersection of maintenance, engineering, logistics, procurement, and finance operations. You will support decision-making and formulate recommendations likely to influence inventory and supply chain results, using our supply chain planning tools (e.g., Servigistics, TRAX) to transform data into decisions.

You will integrate into a dynamic, complex, and high-impact supply chain context, where you will have access to training and development resources (e.g., LinkedIn Learning, a mentoring program, leadership development programs, as well as health and well-being benefits).

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct impact analyses on fleet transition and evolution, formulating clear and methodical recommendations regarding spare parts strategy, surplus risks, and opportunities for disposal of excess inventory.
  • Translate supply chain modeling and forecasting results into concrete inventory management strategies and recommendations to ensure operational readiness. Play a key role as an analyst supporting decision-making for Maintenance, Engineering, Logistics, Procurement, and Finance, clearly outlining risks, options, and trade-offs.
  • Lead inventory reviews for governance bodies, ensuring management has timely visibility into service risks, financial impacts, and mitigation plans.
  • Proactively manage inventory optimization levers (allocation strategy, inventory redeployment, surplus reduction, and asset pooling) to ensure a fair balance between service levels, costs, and inventory growth.
  • Continuously improve planning assumptions, data quality, and system utilization, exercising informed judgment when tools have limitations or data is incomplete.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain management, operations, business, or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in demand planning, inventory management, or supply chain functions, with increasing responsibility and autonomy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure ambiguous problems, define a critical path, formulate sound hypotheses, and translate analysis into clear recommendations.
  • Excellent understanding of inventory forecasting and supply planning methods, as well as their financial and operational effects, preferably in an airline or maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and consistently meet deadlines and commitments without close supervision.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to concisely present recommendations, adapt the message to its audience, and build buy-in across cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working in integrated and cross-functional supply chain environments, involving maintenance, engineering, logistics, procurement, and finance.
  • Strong technical skills, with advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with PowerBI and supply chain modeling and forecasting tools a plus (e.g., Servigistics, TRAX, material requirements planning systems, and enterprise resource planning software).
  • Ability to build successful working relationships, achieve consensus, and constructively resolve problems with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and operational constraints in a complex aviation environment.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a highly autonomous environment, demonstrating sound judgment, taking responsibility for decisions made, and influencing outcomes within cross-functional stakeholder groups without formal authority.
