The Workforce Planning Analyst is responsible for collecting, tracking and analyzing data and creating simulations. The analyst will use and improve planning tools, write detailed reports and build models to plan headcount and present recommendations. The analyst will also work on various projects, implement measures and prepare a dashboard to drive efficiency gains for the Airports — North America division.
This position may be based in Toronto, Vancouver and/or Montréal.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Research, record, organize, interpret and analyze data and prepare summaries and reports.
- Support existing infrastructure tools and their development.
- Develop and implement new tools, processes, dashboards and scorecards.
- Prepare presentations for monthly and quarterly senior team meetings and for various organization-wide strategic initiatives.
- Draft and validate rule parameters to ensure compliance with current staffing standards and quickly adapt them to changes within the business.
- Link workforce utilization to productivity reports and performance indicators.
- Create analyses of flight schedules and determine the optimal times of year to reassess resourcing.
- Collect time-and-motion data within Airport Operations teams to ensure the most accurate data is used in planning models.
- Support projects and recommendations with quantitative and qualitative information.
- Work with the Workforce Planning team and Airport Operations leadership to help prepare dashboards and set targets using data analytics, including overtime and reduced-hours analyses.
- Propose solutions and produce management reports, budgets, analyses and financial evaluations; develop processes and present detailed accounting procedures.
- Advise resourcing and operations teams using statistical analyses.
- Analyze trends and present appropriate recommendations.
- Collaborate with various partners, including Talent Acquisition, Network Planning and Finance.
- Prepare ad hoc reports.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education is an asset.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of analytical experience in a related field.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 tools, especially Excel.
- Experience with SharePoint, Power BI and online collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, Webex and Zoom.
- Experience with workforce planning software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong team leadership and development skills.
- In-depth knowledge of airport experience and airport operations and an understanding of interdependencies between operating systems and auxiliary systems.
- Ability to work as part of a team, under pressure, and in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Good understanding of core business principles.
