Air Canada is looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Analyst to join Air Canada's Digital Platform team. The ideal candidate is responsible for bridging the business and technical aspects of any solution. The successful candidate must focus on the customer experience, have a passion for the airline industry and for creating digital experiences, and must be comfortable working in a highly dynamic, fast-paced, collaborative environment that relies on a continuous product delivery model.
This position reports to the Manager - Platform Development
Responsibilities :
- Obtain, analyze, specify and validate the business needs of stakeholders, whether Product Owners or end users.
- Collaborate with project managers or Product leads to determine product scope and vision.
- Conduct interviews to gather product requirements through workshops, questionnaires, surveys, site visits, workflow wireframes, use cases, scripts and other methods.
- Determine and establish the scope and parameters of requirements analysis on a case-by-case basis per project to define project impacts, outcome criteria and metrology.
- Observe, review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing requirements-gathering processes and develop strategies to improve or further leverage those processes.
- Assist in product research to meet agreed-upon requirements and support development efforts.
- Participate in quality assurance of solutions developed internally or purchased to ensure features and functions have been enabled and optimized.
- Develop and use standard templates to accurately and concisely write user needs and user stories.
- Translate conceptual user and product requirements into functional requirements in a manner understandable to developers and the project team.
- Create process models, specifications, diagrams and charts to provide direction to developers and the project team.
- Communicate business requirement improvements and changes - verbally or in writing - to project managers, managers and other stakeholders in order to understand problems and solutions.
- Collaborate with Solutions Architects and developers to validate that the design and developed solution meets user requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and at least three years of experience as an Analyst or Product Manager focused on IT systems.
- Proven experience in business and technical requirements analysis, data elicitation, modeling, verification and method development.
- Proven skills in project management and project management software, including planning, organization and resource management.
- Experience or knowledge of working in an Agile methodology.
- Strong talent for analysis, mathematics and creative problem solving.
- Proven self-starter and ability to manage with minimal supervision through feedback from various internal departments.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a strong customer focus.
- Quality assurance experience, an asset, but not mandatory.
- Travel or airline industry experience, an asset, but not mandatory.
- Programming or computer design experience, an asset, but not mandatory.
- Good understanding of solution design and API (Application Programming Interface) specification development.
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment.
- Show punctuality and reliability to support the overall success of the team in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of AWS solution, an asset, but not mandatory.
- Industry experience, an asset.
