We are looking for a rigorous and motivated individual with strong quantitative and analytical skills to fill a Senior Analyst role on Trans‑Canada Capital’s Performance team.
Reporting to the Manager, Market Monitoring, you will play a key role in the production and analysis of multi‑asset portfolio performance, while actively contributing to the enhancement of tools, processes and analytical capabilities. This role offers significant exposure to various internal teams and the opportunity to work across a wide range of asset classes, including private markets and derivatives.
The successful candidate will choose TCC for the opportunity to work across a broad range of asset classes and for the strong collaboration with organizational teams, enabling a comprehensive understanding of investment activities. This position requires at least 4 days per week in the downtown Montreal office.
Role and responsibilities
- Perform calculation, validation and analysis of multi‑asset portfolio performance, ensuring data quality, consistency and reliability
- Apply industry best practices for performance measurement and attribution, including the handling of cash flows, derivatives and private assets
- Develop deep expertise across a wide range of asset classes (fixed income, global equities, public and private markets, complex derivatives)
- Lead the production and continuous improvement of performance reports for internal teams, including Client Solutions
- Design and oversee controls to ensure data integrity, governance and quality
- Develop, automate and optimize analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI), models and data pipelines to support robust, scalable analysis
- Collaborate closely with internal teams (Client Solutions, Front Office, IT, Operations, Accounting) as a key performance measurement partner
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, actuarial science, mathematics or a related field
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in performance measurement or a related role
- Excellent knowledge of industry best practices in performance measurement and mastery of return calculation methodologies in a multi‑asset context
- Strong understanding of investments, portfolio construction and multi‑asset benchmarking, with experience in performance attribution (Brinson, fixed income, multi‑level) highly valued; knowledge of private markets (IRR, TVPI, J‑curve) and derivatives is an asset
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with a proven ability to deliver rigorous analyses independently and on time
- Advanced programming and business intelligence skills (SQL, Python, Power BI); experience with market tools (Bloomberg, Eagle) is an asset
- CIPM designation strongly valued; CFA or FRM is an asset
- This role requires fluency in a language other than French to provide daily support to clients and employees located outside Quebec or who require services in a language other than French
- Demonstrated punctuality and reliability to support the overall success of the team in a fast‑paced environment
