The Data Solutions Analyst - Crew must design, develop, and maintain scalable, reliable, and high-quality data pipelines and platforms that enable the implementation of advanced analytics, reporting, and data science initiatives. The incumbent must focus on transforming raw data from multiple internal and external sources into reliable, well-managed data assets that support operational decision-making, optimization initiatives, and business analytics. Working closely with business stakeholders, data scientists, software engineers, and IT partners, this person ensures that data solutions are robust, performant, secure, and compliant with enterprise data and engineering standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain end-to-end data pipelines for crew assignment data, for ingestion, transformation, and dissemination of batch and near-real-time data.
  • Develop and maintain scalable data architectures that support analytics, reporting, and advanced modeling use cases.
  • Integrate data from multiple structured and unstructured sources, ensuring quality, completeness, and consistency.
  • Optimize data pipelines and storage to ensure performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and data analysts to enable efficient access to clean, well-modeled datasets for analysis and model development.
  • Implement data validation, monitoring, and alerting mechanisms to proactively identify and resolve data issues.
  • Apply best practices in data engineering, including version control, automated testing, integration and delivery, and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance, security, privacy, and compliance standards.
  • Facilitate the transition from laptop-scale solutions to enterprise-grade big data platforms.
  • Diagnose failures and provide advanced support for data pipeline and platform issues.
  • Evaluate and adopt new tools, frameworks, and technologies to ensure continuous improvement in data engineering capabilities.
  • Contribute to the implementation of reusable frameworks, templates, and code to promote standardization and scalability across the enterprise.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data engineering, software engineering, or a related quantitative discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least three to six years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or a related technical position (depending on level).
  • Solid experience with SQL and at least one other programming language (Python, Scala, Java, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience developing and maintaining data pipelines using modern data engineering frameworks and tools.
  • Experience with data warehousing, data modeling, and distributed data processing concepts.
  • Knowledge of data services and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP, etc.).
  • Experience with big data technologies (Spark, Kafka, etc.) and relational and NoSQL databases, an asset.
  • Understanding of DevOps and DataOps practices, including integration and delivery, and infrastructure as code.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, coupled with a pragmatic, engineering-driven attitude.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously while contributing to team project success.
  • Experience with airline and human resources data, an asset.
  • Proven punctuality and reliability to foster overall team success in a fast-paced environment.
