Air Canada is looking for an experienced and dynamic person to fill the position of Technical Analyst, responsible for providing support in the implementation of IT solutions for Product Distribution applications. This position requires collaborating with a diverse internal workforce and external third-party service providers.

Air Canada's Information Technology (IT) team is booming, with several major projects underway that will transform its IT landscape. This is a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and contribute to the evolution of Air Canada's New Distribution Capability (NDC) solutions for its partners and a recognition program for corporate clients, as well as the optimization of existing features.

The person occupying this position will report to the IT manager responsible for Air Canada's NDC portal and business-to-business portal for travel agents.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement solutions for Air Canada's NDC portal and travel agent portal and maintain these portals, in accordance with the desired technological architecture and operational requirements, while ensuring superior product quality through the introduction of new tools, technologies, and practices for process evolution and application optimization.
  • Resolve partner issues in collaboration with cross-functional IT teams and provide solutions quickly. Troubleshoot software, messaging, and connectivity issues.
  • Support partners in their integration into Air Canada's distribution process.
  • Organize product and project meetings, improve communications between different areas, and promote best practices in product management.
  • Maintain and update technical documents and procedures.
  • Work closely with relevant stakeholders to gather information and use it to improve operational and business performance.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal users to develop, evaluate, install, and test software enhancements.
  • Review and analyze data from multiple stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • Maintain and update technical documents, diagrams, and procedures.
  • Communicate analysis results and make recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide support for business analysis and business and technology integration efforts.
  • Conduct needs and systems analysis and translate business requirements.
  • Support multiple working methods, such as hybrid, Agile, or DevOps.
  • Support planning and tracking processes.
  • Provide management with information on the economic impacts and compliance issues that significant operational decisions would bring. Support definitions of methods, techniques, and calculations to identify ways to improve management methods and technical processes.

Qualifications

  • At least three years of experience in IT or operations in a large enterprise, in the transport sector or for an airline, an asset.
  • University degree or relevant technical certification, or relevant experience proportional to the position.
  • Experience working with New Distribution Capability (NDC) APIs and schemas in an airline distribution system environment, an asset.
  • Familiarity with airline offer and order management standards, as defined by IATA's NDC implementation.
  • Understanding of the Agile method, ITIL procedure risk management frameworks, SDLC, and Jira, as well as cybersecurity risk management frameworks, an asset.
  • Knowledge of APIs and tools like SoapUI and Postman, essential. Knowledge of MuleSoft, an additional advantage.

  • Ability to follow procedures and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of user acceptance testing and quality assurance testing, and ability in impact assessment.
  • Flexibility and availability to work overtime, as needed.
  • Proven punctuality and reliability to promote the overall success of the team in a fast-paced environment.

Employment Conditions:

Candidates must be eligible to work in the country concerned at the time an offer of employment is presented and are responsible for obtaining work permits, visas, or other necessary authorizations. Proof of eligibility must be provided before the start date.
