Air Canada is looking for a highly motivated, analytical, and detail-oriented Technical Analyst - Management Systems to join the IT team to support the sales product management portfolio. The successful candidate will know how to translate business objectives and customer needs into clear, testable requirements and concrete solutions. Working closely with the Sales, Distribution, Digital Solutions, Commercial Affairs, Service Centres, IT Service Delivery teams, and SaaS vendors, this person will help deliver integrated capabilities that support sales growth, enhance the experience of agencies and business customers, and advance Air Canada's business strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Product Leaders and Product Owners to understand product vision and roadmap, portfolio priorities, key performance indicators, and expected business outcomes.
  • Lead business and technical analysis of sales-related capabilities, from problem discovery and definition to implementation and post-launch optimization.
  • Determine, analyze, document, and validate functional and non-functional requirements through interviews, workshops, process reviews, data analyses, and solution presentations.
  • Translate business needs into clear features, user stories, acceptance criteria, business rules, process flows, data mapping, interface requirements, and traceability artifacts.
  • Assess current and future management methods, identify gaps and dependencies, and recommend practical improvements that drive customer adoption, operational efficiency, and solution quality.
  • Collaborate with solution managers, technical architects, developers, quality assurance teams, delivery train drivers, Cybersecurity and Data teams, and external partners to support the design of viable and scalable solutions.
  • Analyze system integrations and end-to-end impacts across Sales, Distribution, Digital Solutions, Commercial Affairs, Service Centres, and third-party team platforms.
  • Maintain a well-defined and ready-to-deliver product backlog by supporting refinement, prioritization, estimation, dependency management, and preparation for program increments and sprint planning.
  • Support the Product Leader in defining program increment objectives, release scope, milestones, assumptions, risks, and measurable outcomes.
  • Facilitate stakeholder workshops, solution reviews, product backlog refinement sessions, demonstrations, and other forums that foster a common understanding and timely decisions.
  • Work with SaaS vendors to clarify product capabilities, configuration options, roadmap alignment, release impacts, defects, service issues, and delivery commitments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least four years of experience in business analysis, technical analysis, product delivery, sales support, business technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience translating business needs into functional and technical requirements for complex, integrated solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to structure ambiguity, determine root causes, and communicate practical options and recommendations.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with business and technical audiences, and facilitate alignment across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Experience in requirements definition, process modeling, user stories, acceptance criteria, data mapping, interface analysis, and requirements traceability.
  • Practical knowledge of software development life cycle practices and at least one Agile delivery approach, such as Scrum or SAFe.
  • Hands-on experience with delivery and collaboration tools, such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience supporting testing, defect triage, user acceptance testing, release readiness, and production issue analysis.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and dependencies in a dynamic, matrixed environment while paying attention to details and meeting delivery commitments.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, good judgment, a sense of responsibility, curiosity, adaptability, and a collaborative team spirit.
  • Proven punctuality and reliability to foster overall team success in a fast-paced environment.

Preferences and assets

  • Experience with SaaS products, vendor-led delivery, third-party integrations, APIs, data exchanges, or customizable enterprise platforms.
  • Experience in travel or airline industry domains such as sales, distribution, corporate travel, agency management, commercial affairs, loyalty, digital solutions, or service centres.
  • Knowledge of B2B sales journeys, agency or business customer service, commercial platforms, customer identity, payments, CRM systems, or partner connectivity.
  • Business analysis or Agile certification such as CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, IIBA-AAC, SAFe, or equivalent, an asset.
