The person in this managerial role will be responsible for achieving commercial results within the Asia regional team. The incumbent will work closely with regional freight managers, the Asia cargo team and head office. This position offers the opportunity to guide and support cargo teams across the region, ensuring compliance with Air Canada's standards and commercial objectives.
Responsibilities
- Identify business opportunities and areas for improvement using regular commercial and operational reports.
- Implement national, regional and local strategies in collaboration with cargo sales teams to achieve sales targets.
- Provide strategic product support to the Asia‑Pacific team through workshops with cargo sales teams.
- Collaborate with interline and digital teams to grow business in relevant local markets.
- Provide commercial and analytical support and customer insight to the regional team.
- Support the region in day‑to‑day management of tactical issues related to pricing, capacity and space control.
- Monitor key account performance through regular reviews; ensure results meet targets.
- Work with cargo sales teams to identify revenue opportunities with accounts and jointly develop a strategic plan to increase mutual profitability.
- Achieve revenue growth and market share improvement targets.
- Develop tools to track performance, commercial schedules and operational schedules.
- Act as a liaison between internal departments and managers to align sales and operational strategies.
- Ensure all sales and marketing plans related to regional development are executed and managed.
- Manage one‑off tariffs, exceptional contracts, local pricing, request for quotes (RFQs) and allocations.
- Ensure proper billing and handle accounting variances in collaboration with cargo accounts and cargo teams.
- Perform any other commercial, operational and internal sales support tasks in the region.
Qualifications
- At least eight years of experience in the freight industry.
- Strong understanding of the freight sector with relevant hands‑on experience.
- Highly developed interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and team spirit.
- Excellent negotiation skills and ability to manage priorities.
- Results oriented.
- Exceptional planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with internal customers.
- Strong analytical skills for processing industry data and information.
- Ability to manage irregular or multiple work requests.
- Proficiency with Windows PC applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.

Language requirements
Proficiency in English and Cantonese.
