JOB OBJECTIVE:

The trainee/apprentice technician reports to the NDT Supervisor (or team leader in the absence of the supervisor) for the inspection of aeronautical products that may be assigned to them.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Participate in a training program for the NDT method(s) and in the process of qualification for level 1, level 1 - limited or directly level 2 certification;
• Be documented as a trainee and actively participate in a training program for a designated NDT method for a limited and specified period of time;
• Gain experience under the direct observation of a Level 2 or Level 3 in the same method;
• Assist with other tasks assigned by the manager.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

• Possess a technical college diploma from a recognized institution in non-destructive testing;
• Technical training diploma in aircraft maintenance/structures, an asset;
• Possess training in quality assurance, an asset;
• Possess good analytical skills and attention to detail;
• Able to work safely with X-rays (radiographic equipment);
• Able to work in a 24/7 environment to achieve the NDT requirements in professional training;
• Able to travel outside the region to perform work as needed;
• Be able to communicate clearly in writing and verbally;
• Able to work at heights, without any restriction to lift objects;
• Be able to communicate clearly in writing and verbally;
• Possess a valid driver's license.
